John P. Lyle,M.D. , E.M. Gray,M.D., & Carrie Knox, Au.D.      

John P. Lyle, M.D., F.A.C.S.


Dr. Lyle served the Suffolk, VA area since 1983.  He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of Oregon in Eugene in 1973.  He received his M.D. in 1977 from the University of Oregon in Portland, where he worked at the Kreskey Research center.  He subsequently served his Surgical internship and residency there from '77-'79.   His Otolaryngology-- Head & Neck Surgery training was at the University of Virginia from 1979-1983, where he studied under such world-renouned ENT surgeons as Drs. R.W. Cantrell, Michael E. Johns, Robert Jahrsdoerfer, Paul Lambert, and others.
  A diplomat of the American Board of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery since 1983, he is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the American Academy of Otolaryngology-- Head & Neck Surgery, and all local medical societies, as well as AMA, and serves as a Delegate to the Virginia Medical Society. 

He has a special interest in Dive Medicine, and is active in DAN and Diving Docs.  He is interested in sailing, wine making, hunting, fishing, and bagpipe playing. 



Eugenia M.G. Gray, M.D., F.A.C.S. 

Dr. Gray joined ENT Associates of Tidewater in 1997, and served as Chief of Surgery at Sentara Obici Hospital.  She received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Princeton.  She subsequently obtained her M.D. at Duke University.  She served her Surgery residency and Otolarygology-- Head & Neck Surgical training at the University of Virginia.  She is also a diplomat of the American Board of Otolaryngology-- Head & Neck Surgery since 1997.  She is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and the American Academy of Otolayngology -- Head & Neck Surgery.

She spends her spare time with her three young children and her husband, David.

Dr. Gray is currently practicing at Union Hospital in Elkton, MD.

Carrie Knox, Au.D., CCC-A 

Carrie Knox is our Audiologist.  She received undergraduate degrees in English and Communication Sciences & Disorders from James Madison University.  She continued on at JMU to receive her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree in 2009.  She is a member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA).
